Product details

The beautiful and much admired Weeping Willow has several botanical names including Salix babylonica and Salix vitellina Pendula but in fact is a hybrid of the two with a bit of Salix alba thrown in for good measure.

A winner of the Award of Garden Merit in 2002 this is surely one of the most graceful weeping trees grown in the UK.

It is a large weeping and wide spreading tree often seen close to water as it does so well in wet soils.

The narrow pale green leaves are early to flush in the spring and slow to fall in the autumn.

A fast grower well suited to parks.

It reacts well to severe crown pruning sending the glorious golden stems and light green foliage plunging towards the ground.

Mature height: 20m+

Mature spread: 12-18m
