Description

Introduced in the 1870s, Acer platanoides globosum is a very good choice as a street tree and for urban plantings and particularly popular in Germany.

This Norway Maple does well on most soil types and tolerates air pollution and resists drought.

The dense rounded formality of the crown makes this a delight for architects seeking contrast.

Acer platanoides Globosum is wonderful when in full foliage and it can be rather a let down in a garden after leaf fall as the crown network is small and stubby, however the benefits of the summer time far outweigh this.

This Norway Maple is best for urban environments where space is limited and small is beautiful.

Mature heights and crown spread can vary depending on environmental conditions

Mature height: 3-7m

Mature spread: 2-5m
