Description
Acer platanoides Summershade forms a wide, oval crown at maturity and the dense foliage remains on the tree longer than any other cultivar.
All of the species this one is most tolerant of heat so makes it ideally for urban planting but it does have a vigorous root system so it is best not planted where surface roots could cause a problem.
The green/yellow flowers appear in early spring and are welcomed by bees.
