Description
A clonal selection of Crataegus prunifolia that is very similar to its parent in every way apart from its uniformity.
Originating from Holland it is ideal for both street verges and gardens and has all the inbuilt durability of its genera.
It is a great tree for wildlife with birds especially benefitting from the abundant autumn crop of shiny red berries.
Wonderful red and golden autumn foliage is a striking feature of this small tree with a regular and rounded habit at maturity.

It does well in most soils including very dry and wet soils. Be sure to crown lift the stem to 2 metres over time to keep the thorns out of reach.
This much underused tree requires little maintenance after establishment and is seldom seen in Garden Centres where ‘Paul Scarlet’ seems to dominate.
It is a small tree of ultimate size makes that makes a wonderful garden tree offering spring flower lovely berry colour and great autumnal colour.
