Product details

A good choice even on chalky soils. This wonderful garden tree won the Award of Garden Merit in both 1949 and 2002.

It has so much interest from September onwards that it is one of my favourite trees for a small garden.

Named ‘Red Caps’ in America this clone was selected by the University of Nebraska for the richness in colour of its fruits.

This small arching tree produces an abundance of rosy red fruits which open up to reveal vivid orange seed cases.

The foliage display in the autumn is fantastic with green leaves turning into rich red foliage by November.

It is one of the very best forms for gardens parks and restricted areas.

It thrives on most soils though avoid waterlogged ground.

Mature height: 3-5m
