Description
We have dropped all our Hibiscus syriacus clones in preference to this one, a parmutabilis and syriacus cross selected for its early flowering and superb sized lavender coloured blossoms. As Hibiscus flowers off new season’s growth, it is always worth a hard winter prune to stimulate future shoot development.
This clone is hardier, stronger, more free flowering and less nutritionally demanding than syriacus types so is perfect for a small garden or urban piazza. It flowers from late July to the end of September when most other displays have quietened. Its maple shaped leaves turn to yellow in the autumn.
Mature height: 3-4m
