The Sweet Gum is one of the finest trees for autumn colour, it has a Maple looking leaf that is luscious and green throughout the summer period, turning to stunning crimsons and yellows in the autumn time.
In order to enable this fabulous autumn colour to be integrated into restricted spaces, we have some specimens of Liquidambar styraciflua trained into pleaches. The crowns have been grown within a 1.8m square flat frame and the trees have a clear trunk of 1.8 metres.
Mike Glover Managing Director says “these trees are perfect for achieving screening above fence height without taking up room in a garden where space is at a premium. Clipped to shape each spring they form a wonderful architectural barrier that restricts views from overlooking windows!”
