Description

This Magnolia was bred in the US National Arboretum in 1963 and is a cross between Magnolia lilliflora and Magnolia sprengeri ‘Diva’.

It is a seedling sister of ‘Galaxy'.

A medium sized tree of conical habit formed by its ascending branches that broadens at maturity.

A great choice for gardens or parks it produces most attractive dark purple tulip-shaped flowers which are lightly scented.

Flowers emerge before the foliage.

It does best on moist but free-draining fertile soils and in sheltered or partially shaded positions.

Mature heights and crown spread can vary depending on environmental conditions
