Description

A lovely small deciduous tree preferring free draining, slightly acidic soil but will also perform well on neutral and slightly alkaline soil

One of the so called ‘Little Girl Hybrids’ developed between 1955 and 1956 at the US National Arboretum it is renowned for its profuse floral display.

Abundant deep pink-purple flowers are produced in April-June and its erect habit makes this clone a lovely addition for a small garden.

We grow this variety as a tree rather than as a bush and although growth is slow the flowers never fail to disappoint.
