This beautiful clone was bred in New Zealand and won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
Much is made of its foliage but more mature plants give a profuse display of white flower in the spring that contrasts magnificently with emerging red leaves.
This small evergreen tree is often grown as a shrub.
As a tree it develops a rounded crown; its new leaves open to red before hardening to green as they age.
Frequent pruning encourages glorious red foliage and makes it every bit as beautiful as Pieris formosa.
Lovely in gardens and parks.
We stock these as full standards, half standards or in bush form.
Mature height: 3-7m
Mature spread: 3-5m
