This late April and early May blossoming Japanese Cherry is also known as Prunus serrulata Erecta Miyoshi.
A well used and recognised variety it won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
Perfect as a street tree or garden tree where space is at a premium this tightly columnar cultivar is often grown as a feathered tree to maximise the number of semi-double shell pink flowers it produces.
The young leaves are a copper-bronze.
Tolerant of most free draining soils.
