Description

A Dutch selection of the Manchurian Cherry.

Thriving on most free draining soils the white flowers in spring are more akin to Bird Cherry than anything else and their effect is lovely against a clear blue sky.

Stunning in winter with its smoothly polished golden stems this cultivar of medium height and rounded form is early into leaf in spring.

It is a stout and vigorous grower tolerating the harsher aspects of our urban environments.

I have seen this clone planted as a street tree in Portsmouth and it makes a fantastically stocky tree with a rounded crown as it drifts into maturity.

Mature height: 7-12m

Mature spread: 4-8m
