This dainty Japanese Cherry introduced very early in the 1900s is also known as Shôgetsu.
It is remarkably pretty in flower and in my opinion the most attractive flowering cherry on the market although Prunus Shirofugen comes a close second.
A First Class Certificate winner in 1989 it also won the Award of Garden Merit.
