The crowns have been grown within a flat frame 1.2m wide by 1m high and the trees have a clear trunk of 1.8 metres.
These trees are perfect for achieving screening above fence height without taking up room in a garden where space is at a premium.
Clipped to shape each spring, they form a wonderful architectural barrier that restricts views from overlooking windows.
Pyrus calleryana Chanticleer pleach will thrive on most free draining soils but does not like waterlogged ones. It holds onto its leaf for a long time, sometimes from April through to December, before its glossy green foliage turns yellow through to orange and even red. With it perking up early in March with lovely white flowers this tree is a great value screening option.
If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.
Mature height: 3-5m
