Patented by Princeton Nursery in America in 1975 this seedling of Bradford Pear is happily less vigorous than its parent which has been known to break apart when older due to tight branch angles.
As the foliage is so late to fall in autumn it is also great for screening.
Similar in many ways to Chanticleer but Redspire has rather better autumn colour.
It is of medium height generally rather columnar becoming more oval when mature.
