Description

First introduced in 1885, this well known eating pear variety won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.

Grown at Barcham as a full standard tree for garden planting.

Juicy and sweet green / yellow fruits are generally ready October through to November. This cultivar partially self pollinates and is a good pollinator of other varieties.

It tolerates most soil conditions and is still the nation’s favoured edible pear.
