Product details

Raised by Spencer Turner of Essex way back in the 18th century this rare collectors item is a must for any specialist arboretum. Thriving on most calcareous soils this semi evergreen oak tree slowly develops into a broad headed medium sized tree with distinct dark green leaves.

During very severe winters the tree sometimes defoliates completely before new leaves emerge in April and May. Sheltered gardens in southern England generally sees it keep most of its leaves through the winter period. It prefers free draining soils and will not tolerate waterlogged ground.

Mature height: 7-12m

Mature spread: 4-7m
