Description
First introduced in the early 1860s this stunning clone is narrower and generally smaller that it’s green parent.
Sequoias can grow very quickly when young and this blue clone is no exception. Its lovely foliage is a subtle blue and really stands out when compared to a green equivalent nearby.
It thrives on most free draining soils but needs plenty of moisture to get it established. Lifting Sequoia from the field to transplant them is a very hit and miss affair but once they are established in their containers they are much more straight forward. Best planted in either large gardens or parkland, this majestic conifer forms a symmetrical pyramidal shape at maturity.
Mature height: 12-17m
mature spread: 7-10m
