Product details

Once the most frequently planted Lime this is a very long lived tree and commonly planted in central Europe as an urban tree.

It is a hybrid between Tilia cordata and Tilia platyphyllos and has been known to reach over 50 metres tall like the specimen at Duncombe Park in Yorkshire.

A large and impressive oval shaped tree which is widely used for avenue plantings.

It is recognisable by its dense suckering which forms burrs on the trunk.

Its large lush leaves can attract aphids so care should be taken not to plant in hard areas where the resulting sooty mound will be a problem.

Mature height: 20m+

Mature spread: 10-15m
