This male clone has maple like foliage and is an ideal form to pleach or ‘roof top’ where a flat frame is installed above head height for the foliage to colonize and provide a green umbrella to shade patios of urban piazzas. Its tough leaves make it a good tree to take windy conditions and I have seen this plant thriving within view of the coast but not as the first line of defence.
It thrives on most free draining soils and enjoys full sun and reflected heat bouncing up from surrounding hard areas such as paving or adjacent buildings. Its lustrous foliage display gives it a healthy disposition.
Mature heights and crown spread can vary depending on environmental conditions
Mature height 3-7m
Mature spread: 4-6m
