Introduced in the early 1950s this clone of the dwarf shrub pine is considered by many to be the finest.

Pinus mugo can be very variable in size and habit with recorded mature heights of between 1 metre and 15 metres but ‘Mops’ rarely gets larger than 1.5 metres.

It is a very versatile garden or landscape plant mimicking a bonsai effect of traditional pine and requiring minimal maintenance.

It is tough and is suited to most soil types including shallow chalk.
