This dark blue damson / plum has green tinged flesh and is great eaten straight from the tree or as the ingredient for a crumble or pie. As it is classified by the Government as food, there is no VAT when buying this tree which makes it even more palatable!
Thriving on most free draining soils, its fruit size and flavour can be enhanced by keeping competetion, especially grass, at bay within a metre radius of its trunk. Attractive white flowers in the spring should not be forgotten as a reason to include this round headed tree into a garden.
